For her, he's still the same (lover) like he used to be in the past. She knows about that, but she ignores it, even if she should know better. He's a mean, evil bastard and confesses to his character. The lyrics have no special meaning to me, but I guess they are linked to a relationship which can't work. I think it's a chill out song and driving through the night with this music around must be amazing. In my personal opinion, thats the best song in the whole movie. I also think that it's Ryan Goslins' breakthrough establishing himself as a Hollywood Star. I think the core of the move is a tribute to the 80ies, even though I think it's still an up-to-date movie, thanks to those great pictures and scenes. I must admit that it was too much violence for me in the second part of the movie, but the strong love story implemented between the main characters caught me, so that all in all there's a positive response to this unusual movie.

General CommentI saw the movie Drive last night and I'm still impressed by the soundtrack which fits perfect into those aesthetic scenes. But despite how inhuman he sounds she can't help but feel like he's still the same person he was before he died. He sounds ghostly,depressed,electrified even. She can tell he's changed by the way he's talking. She knows he's supposed to be dead but here he is on the phone with her. This girl can tell something strange is happening because of the way he sounds, the news reports covering the crash and the sightings of the mysterious "ghost car".īasically she's seen the news converge of the crash and the police footage of the "ghost car" that is haunting the highways. And in "Nightcall" it seems as though he's trying to get in touch with his old girlfriend or maybe just a girl he loved in life but never had the courage to tell her. In "1986" he is haunting the highways and reminiscing on what happened to him in the moments leading up to and immediately after the crash. In "Teddy Boy" the the main character has a car crash, dies in the hospital and comes back as a ghostly phantom driver.
